What is VH Counseling Services?

VH Counseling Services provides mental health counseling to support individuals as they navigate life’s challenges, better understand their emotions, and work toward personal growth. My approach emphasizes creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you can explore your experiences, develop coping skills, and work toward your therapeutic goals.

What concerns can counseling help with?

Counseling can provide support for a variety of emotional and life challenges, including anxiety, stress, trauma-related concerns, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, and major life transitions. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Counseling can also be an opportunity to gain self-awareness, strengthen coping strategies, and make meaningful changes in your life.

What therapeutic approaches do you use?

I take an individualized approach to counseling because everyone’s experiences, needs, and goals are different. Depending on your concerns, therapy may incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), coping skills, creative or art-based techniques, play-based interventions when appropriate, and strategies drawn from other therapeutic approaches. Our work will be guided by your needs, goals, and the approaches appropriate for your circumstances.

What can I expect during my first counseling session?

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin discussing what brings you to counseling. We’ll explore your concerns, relevant experiences, strengths, and goals for therapy. You can also ask questions and share any concerns you may have about the process. You don’t need to have everything figured out before your first appointment. We’ll take things one step at a time.

Are counseling sessions offered in person or virtually?

At VH Counseling Services, I offer virtual sessions. In person sessions can be requested.

Do you accept insurance?

VH Counseling Services operates on a private-pay basis. Although I do not bill insurance directly, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement depends on your individual insurance plan and benefits, so I encourage you to contact your insurance provider to verify your coverage.

I also accept Step Up as a payment option for eligible clients. If you have questions about payment methods, superbills, or using Step Up for counseling services, please reach out for more information.

How long does a counseling session last?

Session length depends on the type of appointment and the services provided. Please contact VH Counseling Services for information about standard session durations and scheduling.

How Much Do Counseling Sessions Cost?

At VH Counseling Services, I believe in being transparent about the cost of counseling so you can make an informed decision about your care.

  • Initial intake session: $270
  • Individual therapy sessions: $180 per session

VH Counseling Services operates on a private-pay basis. Superbills are available upon request for clients who wish to seek potential out-of-network reimbursement through their insurance provider. I also accept Step Up as a payment option for eligible clients.

If you have questions about session fees, payment options, or using Step Up, please feel free to reach out before scheduling your appointment.

How often should I attend counseling?

The frequency of sessions depends on your individual needs, goals, availability, and the nature of the concerns you’re addressing. Some clients benefit from meeting weekly, while others may prefer a different schedule. We’ll discuss what makes sense for you and revisit your plan as your needs change.

How do I know if counseling is right for me?

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, disconnected, or unsure how to navigate a particular situation, counseling may be helpful. You don’t need to wait until things become unmanageable to seek support. Therapy offers a space to talk openly, gain perspective, explore patterns, and develop strategies for moving forward. It’s okay to have questions or feel uncertain about beginning.

How do I schedule an appointment?
